Dr. Marlow Hernandez

Dr. Marlow Hernandez, is the Chief Executive Officer of Cano Health, which operates medical centers and pharmacies in Florida that specialize in primary care for seniors. Under his leadership Cano Health has become one of the most respected private enterprises in the nation, having been ranked as the fastest growing Population Health company in the country by Inc. magazine for two years in a row (2019-2020).

A native of Cuba, Dr. Hernandez immigrated to the U.S. with his family in 1993. Driven by a life-long calling for Medicine, he completed his Bachelor’s in Neuroscience from the University of Miami and his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Hernandez specialized in Internal Medicine, training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Along the way, he also earned an MBA and a Master’s degree in Public Health, along with two faculty appointments, three Board certifications, and a fellowship from the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Hernandez founded Cano Health in 2009 in Pembroke Pines, FL in response to what he saw as a need in the community for quality, affordable healthcare.  He offered patients primary care for a flat monthly fee and treated them regardless of their ability to pay. Since its inception, Cano Health has been grounded in a passionate adherence to the core principles of placing the needs of patients above all else; while striving to create a better and sustainable health care model that delivers excellent clinical results.

A decade later, Cano Health has grown to more than 70 medical centers across Florida, Texas, and Nevada serving over 1.5 million patients per year. Dr. Hernandez is married to his college sweetheart and they are raising their two boys in Cooper City, FL.
