Vanessa Garcia-Brito

Vanessa Garcia-Brito is Vice President of NA Communications at NIKE, Incorporated. In this role, Vanessa leads a diverse team of talented storytellers focused on inspiring, engaging and connecting the world through sport.

Prior to this role, Vanessa was NIKE’s VP of Purpose Communications and led an integrated Communications team across Sustainable Business and Innovation, Global Community Impact and Diversity and Inclusion.

Prior to NIKE, Vanessa was Global Head of Corporate Citizenship and Community Engagement at Mars, Inc. – leading a global team responsible for Programs and Partnerships, Sustainability Communications, Community and Citizenship initiatives, driving strategy and managing stakeholders.

Vanessa began her career as an attorney at Arent Fox, LLP in Washington, D.C., where she focused her practice in the areas of Technology and International Law. She also served as an Adjunct Professor at the George Washington University Law School teaching ‘International Human Rights of Women.’

Vanessa holds a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and a JD from George Washington University Law School. She served as the Chair of the Physical Activity Committee for the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry and on the Board for Girls, Inc. Portland. Vanessa has also been  a member of Pipeline Angels, a network of women changing the face of angel investing.

Vanessa lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband who shares her love of adventure. She is also a distance runner who always has her yoga mat nearby.
